  1. ok, this is really neat. i appreciate you taking the time to point out some inconsistencies/changes that have been made over time, honestly. naga are all over the place doing all sorts of things, to the point that they're pretty impactful on the world in general i just hope more people start writing and sticking to naga characters. there's so much possibility here ? ty for posting this
  2. @Rhistel - 9/10! It's, like, basically perfect, and it especially pops in-game. The shape and red-gold-black color scheme with cool highlights is super consistent, and the shape is super cool! I think the amount of violet at the waist can be a little distracting, but it's perfect otherwise! Here's Peridormi's outfit, which remains my favorite across all my characters to this day.
  3. I agree with @Vath and @Silcore, but also want to add that I've always enjoyed phases that host open events. Events of all sorts can really make an RP environment a mainstay for people so long as the events are accessible. An open forum in a neutral research settlement where academics can debate set topics or conduct experiments? Sign me up. A book club where people meet weekly to discuss a story whose details are ad-libbed through RP? I've wanted to run a series like this for a while, complete with detailed synopses and excerpts of in-universe fiction. Phases focused around non-combat events that different people can run for the public seem interesting. I would love to get involved with the worldbuildng and constructioni of such a place.

Yeah, I agree with this. To extrapolate, though, I feel like a lot of the time these "jokes" are inaccessible to newcomers in the sense that people from the outside looking in - such as people who have just created their first character on Epsilon - may not necessarily be able to distinguish jokes between friends from actual animosity. I wouldn't ask a newcomer who isn't comfortable speaking up in a group of complete strangers to seek clarification from people whose intentions are unclear, especially if there are pretty uncomfortable words being exchanged. When I joined, I saw some folks saying some not-so-savory things, and it just seemed like childish memeing to me, even with the context of the discussion removed. I can only imagine how it comes across to others.

After giving it some thought, I think there isn't really harm in a communal area for people to spend time in OOC. However, that doesn't mean that area shouldn't be changed at all. The people I've invited to this server have a really poor opinion of the starting area. From the outside looking in, Dranosh Valley in the main phase is where trolls loiter and sling stupid insults and crass comments back and forth at each other. Dicking around OOC can be fun, but there are people who come to servers like this primarily for RP, and I know two people who were dissuaded from getting involved in the community by the way people act out of character. I'm sure they are far from the only people who have been turned off to this community too, and it stinks, because there are a lot of cool, creative roleplayers here. Start is the absolute first impression people have of Epsilon. I actually think it's good that it is populated, after a little consideration. I wish the ratio of people in start to people elsewhere wasn't quite so noticeable, but it's not something that can be fixed in a day, or even in a week. In start I often say, "What if someone who is new here sees you acting like that? Do you think they'll stick around?" It's preposterous to try to change people outright, but maybe changing some expectations of people here through minor rule changes would help. Also, you want your photos printed? Bogos binted?
