The character portrayed here applies strictly to my phase storyline, and has no influence on the canon status of Epsilon or other phases.

"Why fight fear, the weapon of humanity? Embrace it, Paladin." ~ Sornak Lightstalker during an encounter in the Second War.

Name: Sornek Lightstalker

Age: Unknown

Birthplace: Draenor

Status: Unknown

Appearance

Fear. That is what one feels when they see the towering knight of damnation, the warrior clad in his regal purple and black embodies the unease one feels when standing in front of him; the thick plate armor is crested usually by feathers of a gryphon, or dragonscale. When inactive his body is a pale suit of armour, an imitation of life. However enraged it is clear the Death Knight seeks only destruction as fel magic tears apart his own body in his unending rage, his once dim eyes replaced by two orbs of chaotic fire. It is said his appearance beneath his garb is so grotesque one would die simply out of horror.

Sornek remembers little of how he felt before he died; his memories have mixed with that of his host; a knight of Stormwind. He remembers seeing the burning city and a lone plated warrior standing at the palace of Stormwind, others having taken command of other parts of the keep; indeed the Brotherhood had been spread paper thin and were making do by using their lives to delay the fall of the city and to save the young prince Varian Wrynn. The foolish knight fell to a mace crushing his breastplate, having been caught in a duel with a member of the Sythegore Arm. Sornek's mind then drifts to his own circumstance of death, the burning eyes of Doomhammer as his skull caved in with the force of the Warchief's weapon destroying him; he was cast adrift into the Twisting Nether, until Gul'dan brought him back, like he did so many others of the Shadow Council, he was a slave back then, serving the Breaker of Dreams willingly, doing his... duty to the Horde, until the warlock died, then he was free, a warrior unleashing wicked curses and spells to his own admission.

Freedom is a temporary thing, a paltry excuse to explain life. Sornek understood this as he perished at the hands of a paladin, his armour in ruins and the force under his leadership long dead, he could not raise them, for the ground had been cleansed by the priests and paladins which sent his soul into oblivion. Hatred, that was what kept Sornek from joining the spirits, the desire for revenge.

When Sornek came back, it was not on Draenor, but on Azeroth, his soul had been caught by a pitiful warlock and latched into the body of another dead man, the spellcaster attempted to leash Sornek to his will, he quickly learned his mistake as Sornek gathered his might, and turned the warlock's own power against him, the sheer force of magic unleashed on the whelp turned him into dust, and Sornek was back, free, and slowly regaining his power, it was only a matter of time before the Lightstalker would emerge from hiding once again.

(and other gear)

Hatred's Embrace [Artifact] - A staff crafted by the Shadow Council of old, Hatred's Embrace was recently found and purchased off Dalaran's Black Market, however the state of it's seller is unknown as he went missing shortly after finding a buyer.

Cloak of Flesh - The cape appeared be stitched together from dragonscales and gryphon feathers, claimed from slain beast.

Armour of the Old Days - A full suit of interlocking plate, forged during the First War which remained in use until the Third, where magical inscriptions and markings turned it into it's own unique piece. Enchantments include slowfall and a strong resistance to fire.

e8rNDOP.png

mKohzjz.png Ogre's Hand - In melee he seems to borderline rival an ogre in his prime, the overwhelming physical ability capable of handling most opponents.

V9YKB0e.png Grotesque - As every other member of his brotherhood; there is a terrible secret lying beneath that helm.

7bYUchR.png Elusive - His status and location are almost always unknown.

UPrnYeW.png Lightsbane - Holding a strong hatred towards the Light, he is evidently quite vulnerable to the ways of the Paladin.

8cDxa54.png Zealous - A follower of a different faith, but a preacher of it akin to a cleric that others may know.

PBQ6Rmu.png Hedonist - Debauchery takes it's shape in many forms, the excess of violence and sin is what fuels such a dangerous entity.

A human? I thought only 1st gen 'orc' DKs could wear fel as argumented below.

I know that the Death Knights of the Horde during the Second War were able to wield fel magic but I'm not quite sure about the Knights of the Ebon Blade. If you want to apply this into an RP perspective, I think I may have seen a pattern within the Death Knight throughout the generations.

The first generation Death Knights were former Warlocks of the Shadow Council whose soul was placed into a fallen Knight of the Alliance by Gul'dan. Because of this, they were able to wield fel magic alongside necromancy.

The second generation of Death Knights were fallen Paladins of the Silver Hand. They were either corrupted or slain by the Scourge and most of them lost their ability to use holy magic in exchange for necromancy and frost magic granted by Ner'zhul, who was the Lich King at the time. Some Death Knights, such as Sir Zeliek, were still able to wield holy magic despite of the corruption.

The third generation of Death Knights were former heroes of the Alliance and the Horde and are members of the Knights of the Ebon Blade. These Death Knights were raised by Arthas and they come from different races and classes in life. The third generation of Death Knights are what the player characters control and we are granted the ability to wield blood, frost, and unholy magic by default. Because these Death Knights have varying background depending on race and class, it is quite possible that they may retain some of the abilities they used to have in life similar to the first generation and some of the second generation.

But I could be wrong, and even then, who gives a shit. It is an awesome profile and I love the time you've spent on this, it shows. The template, colours, design of the profile is awesome and as always from you, great writing.

I am of the impression that he is an Orc. Since you know he was a member of the Shadow Council, etc. You are right about the DK gens.

This is a great profile. And besides wielding an artefact of a sort there should be no problem in applying this character to other phases.

Indeed he is an orc; the segment referring to his human memories is in reflection of how Teron Gorefiend and other pre-Ner'zhul Death Knights were capable of retaining the memories of their hosts. They did not retain feelings or emotions from their former hosts but the warlocks retained much of the combat abilities and knowledge of human warfare (along with their language presumably) to give them a massive edge in the opening stages of the Second War. Sornek was born an orc, died an orc, became an undead human with an orc soul, was slain again and came back as an undead human with an orc soul once more.

There's no reason for a Death Knight to go to a neutral harbour run by paladins. Or a neutral Pyke ripoff run by a half-elf. Or any other neutral fictional town. If there was a Second War phase or something I'd be all down for participating in RP and playing an evil fucker but that's not how the server rolls in terms of public RP. The weapon was given to him as a result of RP on this server not from ten years ago, I intend to keep it.
