Building/GPS Improvements/Changes

Recommended Posts

Alrighty. First things first.

The value 0 when using building commands should not be used to "ignore" the value. Instead 0 should counts as the value 0.
i.e: .gob turn 0 should turn it to degree 0

.gob rotate 0 = 0.xxxxxx (x = random values)

For every time you re-enter the same value into the rotation, the gob's rotation seems to half down depending on how many decimals you entered..

i.e of the issue when using ".gob rot 0 0" 13x times:
Y: -0.372827

Y: -0.185336

Y: -0.092535

Y: -0.046251

Y: -0.023124

Y: -0.011561

Y: -0.005780

Y: -0.002888

Y: -0.001445

Y: -0.000743

Y: -0.000401

Y: -0.000149

Y: -0.000000

No decimals entered should just make it assume that all the non-entered decimals should be zero.

i.e:

.gob rotate 1.5707 1.5707 => gob rotation: 1.570700 1.570700

----------------------------------------------------

.gps should have its subfixes changed.
Currently: .gps DIRECTION VALUE
How it should be: .gps VALUE DIRECTION

.gps face should also include Nortwest/Southwest/Northeast/Southeast and so on. Not only w/s/e/n

This makes it a lot easier to quickly change the direction by Alt + Arrow up instead of having to change half the command. As someone who builds a lot this would help tenfold and make building in general a lot "nicer".

-----------------------------------------------------

As of the writing of this, the command ".gobject rotate" works as following

.gobject rotate X Y

How it should be:

.gobject rotate X Y Z
To make this easier to understand.
.gobject rotate <Orientation> <Tilt Forward> <Tilt to Side>

This will make the command a ton easier to understand and to use. As of right now Rotating is hard to nearly impossible. (Props/Credit to Matt(Zajru) and Garkes/Melli)

No idea about the first, should be looked into at some point.

Second, I totally understand your point as a builder myself, but, rather than changing it, if possible, @Azarchius could potentially allow both:
.gps <dir> <value>
and
.gps <value> <dir>

Both can come in handy, it depends on the situation of course.

.gps <dir> <value> is handy for testing the dimensions of stuff, and to quickly move in one direction for large objects and such.
.gps <value> <dir> is handy for moving around a set dimension at all times, i.e, tiles. If you have tiles that are 4x4 yards, then you don't need to switch the value first, but the direction.

Thanks for supporting me bby, and using my explanation. :*
