Adventure Company

Aboard their vessel, the Adventure Company sails. From Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor, into ruins of old or dungeons deep, the Company does their part in the world, in helping whoever they can, whenever they can. Whether across the Sea, or under the ground, this band of misfits fear no deep too dark, no height too high. Quests many and members few, the Company is in need of you. - "The Celestial"

The Adventure Company is an adventure roleplay guild, which is part of the newly created Adventure RP collection of guilds (currently consisting of Adventure Company and The Reliquary) that follows a kind of Dungeons and Dragons-esque feel of dungeon crawling, incorporating a controlled mix of rolling and emotes. Our storyline is primarily Warcraft lore, however we tend to dabble in some expanded or custom lore, races or classes that we feel could expand RP even further.

We try to run events several times a week to keep our members, especially our newer ones, interested, however given that many of our DMs do have lives of their own, we encourage our members to log on and interact passively with each other between events, so as to help develop character relations and better the Company as a whole.

As a neutral Adventuring Group, the Company allows in all races and classes, though IC prejudice is most certain to arise between it's members, especially towards the beginning.

Our rolling system, when required, is fairly simple. You don't roll for everything. The DM will tell you when you need to roll, generally it's for traps, avoiding spells that are generally quite difficult to avoid or trying to pull off amazing or "epic" actions that require a bit of luck as well as skill. Basically, if you want to be a badass, expect to roll quite a bit. If you want to keep it simple, you'll only have to roll on occasion. When rolling is required we work off a typical /roll 100 format unless otherwise asked of. 1 - 10 = Negative crit and usually involves self-injury or something stupid / silly happening to your character. 90 - 100 = Positive crit and usually leads to your character proforming a badass move, managing to do something that is usually very difficult to do or being free to literally skip your way through a
field of traps.

Gathered together by Ellina the Celestial, a group of adventurers embarked on a journey to the Swamps of Sorrow to seek out a temple which a Demonic Overlord had taken control of and used to sow fear throughout the swamplands. The Company, as it would come to be called was forced to unite warring factions and call upon ancient powers before delving into the Temples depths to combat both the Demon and it's lieutenants. This would be the beginning of the Companies story.

Having made camp in the terror filled trees of Duskwood, the Company travelled eastward to the cursed tower of Karazhan where they were forced to conquer their fears as they made their way through the towers mysteries and horrors. Inside they fought both living and dead on their way to reach their final goal, a Necromancer who was trying to channel the towers energies to bring about a new Undead army in his own image.

Undertaken by the dark magics of a powerful Wizard and his eldritch daemons of old, Dire Maul was overtaken and used as a prison for the Highborne people to be used as experiments to sate the Wizards sadism. It was up to the Adventure Company to brave this ancient labyrinth's traps, overcome the Dark Wizard's lackies and discover the truth behind this dark Wizards power.

Within, the Company was forced to deal with Ogres, Satyrs, Demons and the insectoid Qiraji. However, it wasn't only the hostile races they had to deal with. Within the labyrinths walls, the Company faced the hostilities between each other, as well as the trauma of losing the first of their founding members, Boldwin.

Tasked with the objective of stopping a group of cultists from finishing a ritual which would summon a powerful demon into Azeroth, the Company travelled north, through the Barrens to the Wailing Caverns. Before they could head inside however, a magical vortex opened up infront of them and drew them inside, teleporting the party to Blackfathom Deep. Once inside, they realized that they had stumbled across the cults own portal network and pushed on, combating both Naga and cultists along the way. A horror awaited the Company in the final chamber however, several demons had been summoned to preoccupy the Company while the ritual was completed. Though successful in slaying the demons inside the chamber, they were too late to prevent the ritual, a powerful Pit Lord, seemingly unaffiliated to the Legion had been summoned to Azeroth.

In the hopes of finding something to help them combat the Pit Lord, the Company travelled to Outland after being contacted by a mysterious man only referred to as "Edward." Once there they made their way to the ruined crypts of Auchidoun. Within it's haunted walls the Company found themselves forced to use more then just physical prowess to get through as the entire place had been littered with traps designed to keep them out; Or something in as they would come to discover.

Upon reaching the end of the final section, the Company would be forced to face and kill their contact, who turned out to be some sort of unknown being from another region of the universe, much like the Draenei. He had brought them there to defeat an ancient evil which, until recently, had laid dormant beneath the crypts. Upon defeating this "Edward" the Company made use of his own tools and devices to aid in their struggle against the weakened beast within, and managed to push it back underground where it would once again return to it's slumber.

Running out of time and ideas, the Company travelled to Uldum in a hopes of finding aid against the Pit Lord. Within this desert kingdom, the Company came across an ancient temple, built by the titans. Under siege by demonic and undead forces, the Company was forced to rush in and aid the temples defenders in their struggle against the corruptive forces. Within, they fought back both the forces of the Pit Lord, and the corrupted temple guardians themselves before finally reaching their goal, an ancient, uncorrupted Titan Watcher who, after some convincing, decided to help aid the Company against the Pit Lord.

While the Company had been dealing with the Pit Lords forces, their guide, Ellina, had travelled to Blackrock Mountain to hunt down an Orc who had information regarding the Pit Lord and it's goals. Having received no word for weeks, the Company travelled to Blackrock to find out what had happened to their friend and guide, fearing the worst.

Blackrock proved one of the most difficult challenges for the Company as they were forced to rely on stealth to infiltrate the ancient halls, filled with warriors of the Old Horde. In the end, they were forced to trust in a Blackrock Orc, who was trying to liberate his people from demonic influence which had begun to plague the warriors within the mountain.

After some days within the mountain, having been captured by the Orcs and then escaped, the Company finally met up with their dear friend and turned it's attention to overthrowing the demon who sought to gain control of the Blackrock Orcs. Upon learning the demon's disguise, the Company set out to interrupt the Blackrocks trial of leadership and kill the demon without compromising their ally or themselves.

Lost to time, and shrouded in magic power, a trollish temple - its gates submerged, its foundations made into the very mountainside of Khaz Modan - has been uncovered. Legend foretold of a powerful warrior, Djarion-Volzul, wielded three powerful items, each holding unknown origin at that time.

Upon his Death, his commands were to be sealed away into a tomb, as well as his weaponry, and have it protected beyond compare. The company entered into these forgotten halls, avoiding traps, the reanimated corpses of Zandalari trolls, and the ever present miasmic cloud that wafted through it's halls.

By the end the Company reigned victorious and managed to acquire several shards of legendary equipment which they would need to bring to Northrend to properly reforge. The price of such however, came at a cost, as one of the founding members of the Company met her untimely demise within the tombs walls.

Interrupting the Companys downtime, the earth around them shook as the furthest depths of the guild hall were assaulted by a demonic incursion seeking to rob them of their most prized and powerful artifacts. The guild was forced to delve deep into it's own vaults, something previously restricted to only the highest and most trusted of the guilds members.

Within the vaults, they were forced to fight past a vast array of spells and traps which barred their way, and then the demons which awaited them below. Ultimately, however, they were unsuccessful of reaching those who led the assault before they managed to escape with the artifacts they sought after, leaving behind but a single executioner to test the guilds mettle after all these years. This hour alone has paved the way to the guilds new goals- Reclaiming that which was stolen, where they will likely face much the same threat they faced several years ago- And perhaps even find themselves face to face with an old foe.

Having been given a map and ciphered message about a tomb or vault of Mogu origin within the northern reaches of Pandaria, the guild sent out a small group to investigate and retrieve an artifact that was said to reside there. While there, the small group learned that they were not the only ones trying to loot the place as a band of mercenaries were found- Mostly slaughtered by the vaults guardians. They faired better, delving further in where they came across a pair of titan constructs, corrupted by fel energies and upon felling one of them, slipped further in to uncover those responsible...an elite unit of Legion forces. They engaged them, before finding themselves trapped in the room they were in.

The next day, the guild sent reinforcements to rescue and retrieve both the previous group...and the artifact they were after. The group managed to obtain the artifact from the very room they were trapped in, and then manipulated a titanic console to free themselves before having to have a second match against the other construct. From there, they returned to the entrance, and rather then proceed further in down another path to find out what the legion was truly after...they opted to return home with artifact in hand. Only the future will tell what sort of consequences this decision will have.

Events will typically be done by myself (until I've more DMs to call upon) with a fixed schedule and lasting no longer then 4 hours in duration (give or take for finding an appropriate resting spot:)

Weekdays - Starting between 5:30 - 6:30 PM EST

Saturdays - Starting between Noon - 3:30 PM EST

Sundays - Starting between Noon - 6:30 PM EST

That is MY schedule of availability to DM, and comes with the obvious requirement of people being online, an event prepared, and unforeseen consequences not getting in the way. Other DMs who join up will obviously have their own preferred times to run things.

1. Keep guild lore out of phases that aren't ours.
This means what it says, don't bring our custom lore to other peoples phases. We will remove you if we get reports that you were shoving our custom lore down other peoples throats.

2. ALL members must adhere to the rules listed here.

This includes myself, the guild master, other officers or DMs and anybody else in the guild.

3. Do not spark OOC drama.

Self-explanatory. If you go out of your way to make a big deal out of a small matter, you'll find yourself removed rather quickly.

4. Actively RP once a week

On the character you're in the guild with. If you're not online once a week (without explanation) you'll be kicked for inactivity. If you have something going on, just let us know, either on Discord, in a private message, or in game.

5. Have a sound understanding of basic RP concepts.

These are things like metagaming, godmodding and power-emoting. If you don't know what these are, this guild probably isn't for you.

6. Respect the authority of officers.

We're here to provide a quality and friendly RP experience. If you ruin that, we'll shut you down faster than a porn video on YouTube.

7. Respect others ICly and OOCly.

You don't have to run around loving everybody, but at least be mature and respect others.

8. Keep explicit content out of our chats.

Now, granted, the occasional mention of some adult topics is very fun. But, if it gets to the point where you are belting out the stage directions for a porn film, you will be removed. Period.

9. Keep any racist or otherwise derogatory commentary out of our chats.

We're all about a friendly environment here - and if you're the one being toxic to that friendly environment, then you are no longer welcome.

10. Don't make us make more rules.
There are more rules than the ten posted. Don't make us get them out if you're being an idiot. Cause if you're the kind of person that makes us have to have more rules... Oh, may god have mercy on your soul.

The recruitment for the guild is generally an in-game process, we prefer to settle things out In character as we either pick up recruits in the midst of a storyline roleplay, or by approaching us in whatever public phase we may be visiting. However, we also have it where people can join the (optional, but recommended) Discord group and talk with the DMs and officers to incorporate your character into the guild in one way or another. That being said, we do have an application process for easy recruitment where we'll accept you in OOCly and then you may find us In-Game, either through our individual characters or through the occasional "public" recruitment events we run to finalize your proper induction into the guild ICly.

Similarly, people interested in joining can also seek out our members ICly in other public phases to join, and they can either recruit you themself, or redirect you to someone else who can (such as myself.)

Beyond that, as I've stated prior, our DM group has decreased over the years and we're thus lacking in dedicated DMs to create and run events. We'll no longer host events every second day like we once did back in our glory days, but still seek to host events once a week once we fully start up. In the meantime, I'm also seeking to expand the DM group, so if you've DM experience and wish to try your hand at guiding the story of AC alongside us, feel free to fill out the DM Application below.

Have you spotted one of our members breaking the rules listed? Or even breaking server/private rules without any regards? Here's a following format you can fill out to report the player in question, and have them punished by the officers of the guild. The people who will handle these reports are myself and the officers / DMs. Anything with a red asterisk (*) is required to be filled out for the report to be taken seriously. If you make a false report or try to harass one of our members through reports, future reports will not be considered from the person submitting it. I ask that all reports be PM'd to me directly and not posted here in the thread so as to not create unneeded drama as well as to allow the reporter to remain anonymous.

The following is an example of a report:

In-game name: Radgar Mountainhelm

Offence: Bringing lore into Main Phase

Witnesses: Jacob Whelpsmacker, Timothy the Red
Additional Notes: Was generally rude and disruptive of RP when asked to leave, mod had to interfere.

We take quality RP and good-behavior in Adventure Company very seriously, and if you're found to be a general nuisance or exhibit anti-social behavior, we will not hesitate to reprimand those involved.

With the latest threats to the guild itself, and the evidence of what they shall be facing in the future, it has been decided that the new recruits especially shall be asked to begin forming teams consisting of four to five members and be sent on "training exercises" in the form of contracts taken from around Azeroth. These contracts will mostly have teams dealing with legion adversaries, though will offer them with ways to experience all forms of foes they may come across in their travels. The contracts will be posted here, for all to see as they can see the same upon the task board in-game. Note that only guild members can take on these contracts, and only with the forming of a team to take it on with.

The story has continued. See the latest event summary in the ACT 2 events spoiler. Events will pick up as we have people online to do them. I'll be sure to keep creating more events and DMing more events to keep on track with that. As usual, those who wish to join can typically just whisper me in-game or come to the phase when we are hosting for proper recruitment.
