Yeah, I can't summon my character that is currently at a place that dcs people for trying to load them, and since they have a spaced name, I am unable to summon them on a diff character

Spaced names are the worst fucking idea ever. It just fucks up everything.

That's why we have thing called TRP, so we don't need to use something so idiotic and stupid think like that, WoW wasn't made for this.

Hey there, and thank you for the bug report! :)
It has now been added to the list of bugs that we'll be working through in the near future!

It's not just the summon command. You can't blacklist add/remove, appear, summon and any other command that requires the name of a character having spaces in it, regardless if you add the quotation marks or not.

Couldn't agree more tbh. I stopped using Spaced names on my characters once people started using TRP more often. Its a really bad idea and is not viable with the game. AKA the game wasn't made to accept spaced names.

I'll add that to the list ASAP. Thanks for reporting it!

Some people (like myself) like that extra layer of customization. The concept has been proven to work on other servers (like RPH) all that needs to be done is work ensuring that spaced names can function in commands. Epsilon as a server is still very much a work in progress, iirc, so there's bound to be some hiccups with the features brought in.

It doesn't work on RPH, it messes every single command that uses player name, also whispers, invites,...

TRP is the extra layer of customization indeed, the pros of TRP is that everyone see all your information but it doesn't damage anything. That extra layer of "customization" can be done easier through TRP which is why it was made in the first place, than spaced names that indeed cause more problems then they cause layers of fun.

I've spoken with a multitude of Devs from other servers regarding the spaced name feature.
And all of them say the same thing, like I said earlier.
However its just my personal opinion.

As far as I'm aware we're not going to remove it.
Just to make sure I don't confuse anyone.

Wasn't there some addon that allows space names to be viable?

@NilithThere might have been one but I can't recall any specific addon name.
However, an addon to help with the Spaced name issues could easily be made.
But it'd still not be a perma fix since new issues would come up.

It was one of Chase's called Spaced Whisper. I don't think it applies to all commands, though

no, like this addon is fairly old. it was used on rph, but yeah.

not saying it wasn't, I'm simply pointing out that the addon only fixed whispering, last I checked. and Chase has even said, .whisper <spaced name> should already cover what his addon was supposed to do
