  1. i mean, what are you looking for them to do? post everything that the devs may be working on but have no confirmation on when it'll be done/if it'll be put in?

or are you looking for them to devote themselves to areas where they might just not have interest/might have a harder time with doing?

edit: also azarchius is a server developer. everyone else is models / recolors. if you wanted server-end development news, there was definitely better ways to go about it than throwing a stink on a topic. and azarchius may not have ANYTHING to show us right now.

He woke with a startled gasp and claw-like nails digging at his chest. Sweat dripped down his body as he felt the all too typical heightened reaction to a nightmare. With a grunt, he slung himself around to rest his feet on the rug that sat next to his bed. Drawing the hand up from his chest, he ran it through his long white hair and looked down towards the ground. Fel green eyes stared as his heart beat faster from the nightmare, and continued that for another minute before beginning to relax. He was used to the sleepless nights, and this didn't bother him much. Even the most powerful concoctions could not erase the startling nightmares, and so he just let it happen. He closed his eyes as the nightmare's imagery played back to him, and it was of a burning fleet. It was a nightmare of a memory, and it was not a good memory at that. He was reliving the moment when dragons burned the Kul Tiras Navy at the behest of their orcish riders. The flames, the screams, and the death all around him had left a permanent mark on him at his young age.

Slowly he opened his eyes and pushed from the bed. He made a gesture and a white fur cloak appeared around him as he stepped away from his bed. Heavy footsteps took him from the comfort of his bed and to a mirror. He stared at his reflection, and watched as his brows furrowed. All along his body were scars, and all belonged to their various sources. All of them had their memories that drew him back into his past. He reached up to rub at the claw-made scar along his throat and then trailed it to the scar over his heart. His hand moved from scar to scar before resting at his side. He had been through it all since a young age, and he showed it in the pain of his physical form. With a pained grunt, he moved from the mirror to the door. Slowly, he pushed his hand to the door as his gaze fell to a picture on a shelf that was illuminated by moonlight.

It was a picture of a family that seemed happy. There was a man with ginger hair and a knightly appearance, and he knew that was himself. The woman beside him was an elven woman who had patterns of arcanic tattoos painted onto her. In between them was a young girl - a daughter he once had. Seeing such an image had him pause and grief played at his heart. There was a time in his life that he had things like that - family, loved ones, and similar words. Now he was so certain of his inability to have such a thing. He accepted it as fact despite any other sign saying the opposite. With a heavy sigh, he opened the door and stepped out of his room - closing the door behind him.

It was time for a walk.

    Spoiler

This is the first entry in a series. The series, if I can continue it, will detail Mithaniel's past through bits and pieces. It'll also hopefully portray him as he is when you get him alone / get to know him. The writing may be a bit clunky because I don't do this often. So bear with me, please!

  3. I do like the idea of simple and perhaps small.

It's not populated by mages or ancient elves or hardy warriors, but by peasants

Unfortunately, no phase is going to succeed under this. Warcraft is high fantasy to crazy degrees and people love their high fantasy shenanigans.

This town is not plagued by all-powerful demons or under attack by some ungodly powerful threat.

I agree and disagree at the same time with the exclusion of this. Now, I'm not saying a phase NEEDS to use powerful threats. However, conflict is an ever present thing in Warcraft. It is in its name, really. However, depending on the patch one uses for their timeline? Specific threats are still there in the background. Do they need to be seen / used? Certainly not. But they shouldn't be ignored for their ripe potential in a longer storyline prospect. That being said, one can use other threats more "grounded" - which I can agree with.

  4. I'm not one for words recently, so I'll try to keep this short and simple:

What sort of phases or RP types are you looking for? What would get you out of the start zone / get you online to come RP with the rest of the community?

What interests you in RP & phases?

  5. What should be done is people trying to bring about more RP, not sit around in a ugly half-assed start zone doing nothing to contribute to the RP community.

  6. Your argument is invalid when people are just going to congegrate to a start zone and -not- go to a phase hosting, just like tonight. There's at least one phase thats open 24/7 - DMing not always there, but you don't always need a DM.

  7. Personally, I follow headcanon for warriors that warriors make up for the huge power discrepency with a supernatural "force" (AKA Rage) which allows them to do amazing feats. I also dabble in the idea that magic casters really only have the limit of their body / mind / spirit - whichever is applicable. I believe that is the best way to take it. For example, feats for novice mages becomes repeatable with little taxation to the master mage - and repeat for other spellcasters.

Also, power is one thing. The knowledge to use it is another. As is the knowledge on fighting enemies who fight differently than you or with more power.
