    Sign Forge!

Sign forge. Simple enough. Pick a gob, any gob -- doesn't need to be a literal sign. Give it text it displays when you mouse over it. Really that's it. Naturally it'd be even better if you could color the text. A Certain Other Server uses the website for this but I would think it could be done with commands in-game.
  2. Super simple suggestion... add the UID as a parameter that .gob select will accept. Would be useful for situations where you have multiple objects, especially of the same type, occupying the same coordinates and want to be sure of selecting the right one. I know you can move them all out of the way one at a time to get at the one you want but this seems inelegant and awkward when there's an actually unique identifier right there that we could use in one command.
  3. Gorgeous phase, I've had a look around OOCly, very nicely built... kudos finding a good use for those well of eternity gobs, too. Looking forward to RP.
  4. In retail there is the occasional landmark that is exempt from view distance limitations and can be seen from anywhere on the map (or at least a much greater distance) -- notable examples include the Nighthold, Dalaran, and Shala'nir in the Broken Isles, or the Scarlet Onslaught cathedral in Northrend. It would be nice to have an ability to flag objects in this way in one's phase; particularly with very large objects even at far view distance they despawn around 500 yards away. In the cases of some raids, cities, or dungeons it actually makes them impossible to use fully, as the entire place can despawn while you're still inside.
  5. Yeah, I saw it. Tia asked me for a specific list of objects when we were discussing this topic in discord, so here it is.
  6. As a follow on from our conversation on discord, here's the list. Thanks!
  7. As a fairly consistent veteran of #politics, I voted 'do nothing'. Honestly it's pretty much fine, probably one of the more civil politics chats I've ever been in, with the possible exception of certain individuals who will go nameless and who know who they are. Leave it be, there are bigger problems at hand. Case in point: I need to quite vehemently second Matt's point. Transparency in development is sorely lacking. The server started in a really good place with the openness in this area. I realize there's probably too much to do to resume making nifty youtube videos, but an obsession with secrecy has developed because... what? A certain other server might add similar features? Who cares? Competition is good. Creating a welcoming community is more important than hiding the direction development is taking. The players need to have the feeling that they're being listened to, that staff is active and communicative, and that the server is going in a positive direction. As it is it would be very easy for new players to get the impression that nothing is being done to improve the server, even if those of us who've been around a while know that isn't true.
  8. Looks interesting, and a good start. I might be interested, though I'd love to hear more about the overall history of the world (doesn't need to be detailed, just sort of a birds-eye view) and more about the different cultures.

    Gob list?

Could we get a simple list of all the gobjects and their ID's? Search is great if you know what you're looking for, but in terms of being able to browse and see what's available, especially with the new 7.2 objects, a full list is invaluable, and it would help in the short-term given that .lookup next is not working. Sample format: http://rpheaven.org/legion_gob_list.html
  10. Just what it says on the tin. And even with .cheat god on, you can die to it.
  11. In character generation, orcs, undead, and tauren are listed as alliance. Gnomes, worgen, and draenei are listed as horde.
  12. When you use .lookup for something with a lot of results (say, more than 100, example .lookup spell arcane), you get fifty results and then a line suggesting .lookup next for the next fifty. They are, properly, in numerical order. So far, so good. When you go ahead and .lookup next, you do not only get fifty results, it will completely fill your chat buffer. These results are also not sorted in numerical order. (to reproduce: .lo sp arcane, .lo next) Some searches will not continue at all when you .lookup next after the first fifty. Example .lo it dominance, which does not contain [Staff of Dominance] on the first page (therefore there must be additional results), but does not offer further results when you .lo next. (to reproduce: .lo it dominance, .lo next) Most searches, even those that are initially sorted numerically, will still have items on the second page that should have been on the first. .lo spell celestial, for example, gives you the spells ranging from 74186 through 146640 in the first iteration containing the word 'celestial', sorted numerically, but .lo next gives you spells ranging from 39721 to 117313 (unsorted), an extremely counterintuitive result. I'm presuming that perhaps this is the result of sorting the results after breaking them up into groups of fifty, rather than before. (to reproduce .lo spell celestial, .lo next)
  13. Excellent bio, beautifully written. Sounds like a fascinating character and a worthy rival.
