Rivals to the Kirin Tor during the era of splintering kingdoms, The Tor Gildaer (Pronounced: TOR GIL-DARE) have ultimately fulfilled their goal of being the excelling institute of magic within their respective nation of Gilneas. Many of its members were direct descendants or apprentices  of the first human magi during the order's formation shortly after the establishment of Gilneas. This mystical order of Gilnean Magi that has its roots in The Arathor Empire left a treasure of knowledge behind on their coastal island off Gilnean shore. Unfortunately, due to an obscured incident the order was abolished and access to the order hall prevented.

However, the hoarded knowledge and countless of studies, research material and other gold mines of knowledge in the eyes of truth seekers and arcanists still remain within the deeper parts of the order's halls. Alchemists, Arcanist, Occultists and other pursuers of the arcane arts and higher alchemy, have left invaluable notes, relics and other intriguing objects of fascination and complex arcana behind. Now with the key to the tower retrieved from The Kirin Tor vault on Tol Barad the secrets of this order are up for the taking, ready to be revisited by the new age's brightest of minds.



A few individuals have sought to reclaim the legacy of this magic order, seeking to revive it as a safehaven for arcanists that want to practice magic, free from Kirin Tor doctrine. Without moral limits, restriction or dogmatic, strict regulation. Now more then ever, could the knowledge within this place be key into fighting the legion and understanding the ways and sorcery of the enemy that threaten our world and our very existence.

In our eyes there is no such thing as apocrypha. There is no such thing as 'forbidden knowledge'.

Head Commissioner - The directive head member of the High Commission. This person is responsible for making final executive decisions concerning the well-being of The Tor Gildaer. This personal formerly used to be the head representative of the order, and in its old state this individual also used to be the most masterful of wizards. This person is also the front-spokesperson of the order and overseers and maintains healthy business relationships with all patrons and affiliates.

Commissioner - Officer ranking members within the order that together with High Commissioner form High Commission within the order. This directive and administrative body ensure the monitoring of the order and the activity of its member. They also serve as a group that enforces the philosophical code of the order at all costs and in absence of The High Commissioner have a final say in decision making and are to carry out the duties of The High Commissioner.

Virtuoso - A member of the order that through exceptional skill and mastery of their craft have been recognized as gifted with Excellence. These are some of the order's most trusted academics and have access to special perks exclusive to individuals of excellence. This rank is achieved through not only display of great potential and power, but also contribution to the order by finding new ground-breaking knowledge or theory, ultimately having perfected their Magnum Opus (Masterpiece).

Scholar - The general make-up of the order. Scholars are members with regular membership to the order. Even within the order, these are bright minds full of potential, learning how to unlock that potential and use it for greatness. Scholars may pick any subject, craft or magic practice which might interest them. They are rewarded based on merit and accomplishment in their respective field of practice. They keep research journals and notes of their discoveries as proof and analysis of their accomplishment.

[This rank has a modest yet sufficient access to the order's various facilitated stations, as well as first-degree access to knowledge and secrets in the order.]

Patron - A well esteemed and highly regarded affiliate of the Order that has not only helped the order financially, but also aided in its growth through fresh, visionary ideas. These people are investors that decide to fund projects within the order and are as such entitled to insight to a project's research development, as well as usage of the final projects to their heart's content. Even since the dawn of the order, many projects were funded, and commissioned by nobility.
(It should be noted that Patron, albeit in this position due to their financial or otherwise sponsoring support, these are never people that defy or do not share the same philosophy as the order does. For this very reasons, on occasion potential Patrons are rejected.)
[This rank will have a general overview of all the projects going on within the order, and in-depth insights of directly funded projects.]

Associate - Associates are valuable allies that share the order's philosophy and contribute to it in minor ways. This rank is often reserved for those that can not join the order due to other obligations. They are kindred when it comes to upholding the order's philosophy wherever they may go, and are allowed access to the main-hall of the order. They hold however little to no influence within the order due to their distance.

Candidate - This rank is that of the probationer. A person only recently having made contact with the order. Their support and allegiance is still being questioned and their capability still being tested. This would be the rank anyone acquires the moment they sign the membership application.

[This rank holds no access to any of the order's perks, knowledge or secrets.]



One thing should be clear. The Order is not open for public application. The order will however notice individuals that harbour great potential within themselves in terms of the magical arts. These individuals are granted a letter of invitation. In order to apply, we do not do any regular form of application. We want you to read the letter carefully and respond with a letter in return, regarding your interest in becoming a member of the order. This is a test of creativity, roleplay skill and at the same time a background check of your character.
 
(Note!: We only accept characters as patrons if they have a very good reason and backstory to back up their wealth.)
