  1. So basically Humans, Dwarves, Dirty Humans, Rich Dwarves, Rich Humans, Dirty Dwarves, Tauren, Tol'vir, Bad Elves, even worse Elves and more humans and dwarves? I don't mind. Needs some flavorful introduction tho. Like.... I dunno. LONG AGO... IN A DISTANT LAND! I AKU, THE SHAPESHIFTING MASTER OF DARKNESS! - I uh.... will stop now.
  2. Resistant would imply a level of immunity to Arcane magic. But really... it's not. There is no mention of that whatsoever. Saronite, in general, is very strong, nobody can deny that wherever you stand on the matter. But you are simply overexaggerating its capabilities based on one NPC that happened to be really fucking strong. To be honest. We could theoretically argue about this to no end. Just keep in mind you can't use Saronite as an excuse to soak, reflect or nullify every attack.
  3. You are saying using anything besides Acid on Saronite is folly. But you still fail to understand that Saronite is not immune to anything you mentioned. There is simply no lore evidence to that. I believe the misconception also arose from the fact Death Knights are handy in dealing with magics (especially Unholy) - But really... That's about as far as you are going to get. EDIT: I didn't see the edit because you edited it as I was typing out the reply. Still doesn't change the fact Saronite is resilient in nature, not some god-like metal you can use to hump everyone who isn't a Death Knight. A lot of metals in wow are resilient, some even more than Saronite.
  4. But it is remarking the Colossus' only weakness. You can't apply that to Saronite in general. - You have to keep in mind that the acid is the most effective way to get rid of Saronite, not the only way. I still fail to see where you got the idea it is immune to all forms of attacks. - It is simply very resilient. Also, keep in mind that smelted Saronite. (the thing you are wearing as a Death Knight) can be brittle.
  5. Pretty much. Though I advise against mentioning generation in TRP at all... Unless in the OOC tab. Now... as for Saronite. The keyword here is significant. No matter how tough the colossus' armor is, it is still vulnerable to a jormungar's acid. Take control of one using the orbs along the northern edge of the Snowdrift Plains, then use it to fight the Iron Colossus on the Snowdrift Plains. If you need help controlling the creature, speak to one of the nearby handlers. This is the exact quote from the Iron Colossus questline. As you can see, there is no mention of Saronite being indestructible by other means. Jormungar's Acid is indeed one way to get rid of Saronite, but the notion that it is the only way is simply wrong. - You have to keep in mind that Saronite is still a metal that can be mined, smelted and used in armory by the Death Knights and Lich King. - There is literally no specification that Saronite is immune to Arcane, Elemental magic or even explosives as you mentioned... It is easy to come to this misconception, but it really has no basis in canon whatsoever.
  6. You have no idea how much that annoys me. It really messes up with DK characters. I tried to play the transition back into the service of the Lich King as an unknown calling at first, eventually descending to the point where you no longer care that the voices inside of your head are of the Lich King.
  7. 1) It is possible. - But you won't do it unless you are retarded. Anything with a hole can be fucked. 3) That's not true. Simply false. I mentioned Saronite can resist Arcanite, which alone is super-powerful metal. So I would say I did bring up the strong physical endurance. There is no canon source for Saronite being resistant to Arcane magic itself though. If you have one, back it up, please. The only canon source for the actual properties of Saronite is from the quest Pure Evil and mentions in books about how durable and strong it is. It isn't some god-tier metal that is impenetrable. 3) And isn't it? A lot of people forget them. 4) That's in essence, true. But I specified what makes a special Snowflake a Special Snowflake. Special Snowflake isn't a unique character. It is a character that has so many outlandish traits for the sake of being unique, thus becoming completely generic and laughable. 5) No. Generations do not exist ICly. They are an OOC separation made to distinguish between Gul'dan's Necrolytes, Fallen Knights of Lordaeron and the Acherus Death Knights. The notion of generations is silly. They are all Death Knights, albeit with different abilities and origin, regardless of what you say. - Nobody in their right mind should use the term "Death Knight Generations" ICly. That was the whole point of my Generations argument. 6) I disagree with that. You alone are a testament to my statement. Before you begin correcting people, make sure you got your own facts straight.
  8. Obviously, I think the fact you cannot make teleport locations that already exist is given. RPH has been doing this for years and I hardly remember having any problems with that system. +1 - Really want to see it in the game. As a GM, I can confirm dynamic events are almost unthinkable without this. One possible alternative is to make a phase for every section of the event. Mind you, that's a hassle that I'm not going to bother with.
  9. *checks guild tab.* *14 members* *thinking* I will fucking shank you bitch. /s jkjk, luv u.
  10. Wilhelm is already in the guild... and uh, I really can do that on my own. I know the lore.
  11. Would love to see you, personally. I was contemplating that for quite a bit now... Will do.
  12. It is not out of the question at all. Both High Elves and Dwarves are a possible alternative.
  13. Somebody actually made this.... lmao.
  14. this is a reply to your introduction post. thanks for coming.
  15. A hero... that's what you once were. You stood boldly against the Shadow and purchased another dawn for the world... with your life. But the evil you fought is not so easily banished; the victory you claimed, not so easily held. For now, the specter of death looms over the world yet again and it has found new champions to bring about its final reign. Knights of darkness, wielding runes of death and destruction, bound by the will of the Lich King. This is the hour of their ascension! This is the hour of your dark rebirth... Summary Welcome to the Ebon Highguard! - The Ebon Highguard is a Death Knight roleplaying guild recently created on EpsilonWoW. The main goal of our guild is to bring Death Knight Roleplayers together and enjoy seeing the events of Legion unfold through the eyes of common Death Knights, who restlessly fight against foes of Azeroth. While not always heroic, their deeds shape and change the world forever. To capture this, the guild will be hosting events based on the premise of player choice and smart decisionmaking. Those using their brain rather than character power will be rewarded while those that fail to do so will be punished. We will be starting in the Legion timeline, using the pre-patch event as our jump-pad into the expansion. Eventually, we will progress through all the important events of Legion until we reach 7.3. Keep in mind that player choice will be essential. You will shape the events, you will dictate the progression and whatever you decide, should it be for the better or worse will change the world around you. Decisions As a heavily progression-based guild, you have to keep in mind that decisions WILL matter. Stupidity is punished just as much as intelligence is rewarded. Your characters are expected to suffer injury for failing and they are expected to go through changes during the roleplay. I understand this might be a dealbreaker to some of you, but keep in mind no story is interesting with the characters stagnant. Truth to be told, a character that never does anything and never goes through any hardships will never be interesting. This is why I will be pushing this idea extra hard towards you: You are not intangible, your character can and will get injured and nothing is stopping them from dying either. (Of course, death will be executed only with the owner's consent and agreement. I won't be killing characters of people that would rather see them live and pull through. Just stay out of obvious death traps and foolery and you will do just fine.) Storyline As mentioned above, we will be progressing through the Legion events regarding both the overall plotline and the Order Hall campaign. We do not intend to involve the Deathlord in any capacity besides perhaps an NPC. Instead, we will be focusing on a more isolated plotline. Think of the Death Knights in the guild as the Champions/Followers, who are left to do the second-tier adventure while the Deathlord is on the Broken Shore, grinding Nethershards. Regardless of that, the Deathlord's actions will affect our timeline. Battle of Light's Hope, the assault of Undercity and whatnot will all be plot points for us. While the Deathlord is off killing people without consequence, we will be the ones cleaning it up after him. Lore Characters We don't have any plans on involving major lore characters besides the Deathlord, who will commune the Lich King's will, Thassarian, who will serve as a side questgiver NPC alongside with Koltira and The Four Horsemen. All of them will be used sparingly and only in a way that won't obstruct or mess up with their lore. In no way do we allow or sanction people associating themselves with and/or even being lore characters beyond minor, insignificant and irrelevant interactions. People who will claim greater association with lore characters need to ask one of the officers or myself first. If they are not approved for it and disregard it, they will be issued a kick from the guild and risk the retcon of their character's existence or death. Recruitment This is a simple matter, really. Players that want to join the guild will either have to post here or contact me in-game, alternatively, we can hang out on Discord. You will be subverted to a few questions about yourself and the character while you are also free to talk to me about anything regarding the guild. Once you are due for an invite, contact me in-game whenever I'm online and I will file it away. To pass the recruitment process, all you need is basic lore knowledge of the Death Knight class and a rundown of my Death Knight guide, which you can find here on Epsilon. You will find the link to it down below. People that are denied into the guild won't be able to apply again for at least another month. Please, don't be salty when you're denied access. This sort of filtering exists only to ensure the quality of both IC and OOC, so that our members don't have to suffer pointless drama. Of course, new players are always welcome, you just have to do a little bit of research and specify that you are new to Death Knight roleplay to get access. Newbies will be invited or denied depending on their OOC performance, not Lore knowledge of roleplaying skills. Rules I follow a simple mantra. Don't be a dick. If you can manage to keep a civil relationship with the guild and obey all the server rules, you are welcomed in the guild. If you fail to uphold the rules in any capacity, you will be sanctioned accordingly. This can range from a simple warning to a guild kick. Guild kicks based on your OOC actions are permanent, meaning you can never re-apply for the guild again, so be careful how you act towards your fellow guildies! - Just keep your mind fresh and you will do just fine. Some special rules involve: 1.) No Heavy Custom Lore 2.) No ERP 3.) No Political/Religion discussion in g-chat (unless sanctioned) 4.) Not mixing IC and OOC (if you break this one, you are pretty much a goner) 5.) Being nice to other guilds, phases etc. Remember, you are representing the guild whenever you are online! - We don't want to give off the wrong impression. Races/Classes Here is the list of all playable Races and Classes for the guild. I will use red indicator for classes that are of higher difficulty and won't be given to new members upon joining. Yellow indicator for classes that are playable by new members if they prove knowledgeable enough to play the class during the interview. Green indicator will mark classes/races that newbies can play without the required skills. If your race/class is not on the list, you can still argue for your place in the guild, so long as your character has a reasonable backstory. PS: No Panda DKs. Period. 16. This is too much awesome for me. Art is gut.
  17. I would like it if I didn't already like my 10 things today. :<
  18. Welcome, Vifor... Please leave your remaining sanity and boots at the door.
  19. Oh my god. Finally, someone wrote a guide about Church of the Holy Light and used their brain while writing it. You mentioned my biggest problem with the Priest roleplayers. Xenophobia and corruption are very common theme in priest RP, often executed terribly. Some people can't simply admit WoW isn't the Grim Darkness of the 41st century, sadly. I hope people won't disregard this guide as it extensively describes what the biggest problems with priest roleplay are. You hit the nail on the head.
