  1. Although some stuff was retconned over the years, this is still a very nice collection.
  2. Sounds like a nice and promising concept, tho I am not sure whether there is enough of people to make this interesting. Might give this a look at some point. Also not meaning to be an ass, but if this is meant to recreate that War of the Satyr, you might want to delete the 1 in the number of years It was 9300 b.d.p.
  3. Granted. But you get reanimated in 4 hours by an enthusiastic necromancer. I wish to pass my finals.
  4. I do not know why you would perceive my comment as disrespectful, because it is not in any way shape or form. If you see it like that I do appoligisse. You've made a lot of points in your original comment, I might have misunderstood some, or I chose to address the, for you, less important ones. To those other points then: How to cope with powerful characters? Well, I kind of answered some of that in the very last part. If one founds themselves confronted with powerful mages on a regular basis, the easiest way to 'give oneself a fighting chance' is to give themselves anti-magic proprieties via some means (tattoos, enchanted items, ...). Reasonable people do accept this. Most people don't find it enjoyable to just slap others around and they will be more than happy to give the less powerful character some compensation. If one meets a "god", well ... there is not much to do but to calmly walk away. If one, however, wants to play a weaker character, they should be ready to confront stronger characters, since they made that choice. They should know (have planed), how the character will react when confronted with strong ones. -- There really is little advise on this, every character will react differently. I personally do enjoy playing these characters a bit and I could tell stories about how I managed to trick and outsmart a group of evil-ish mages, or how I talked an orc into not killing me and later we became good friends in a tavern, or how I almost killed myself while running from a crazy plague-psychopath, or how I got to fight some troll loa while I was hired by some goblin to cook in his new restaurant. And probably a few more. (actually just remembering them, I might write them in the future when I have time) When it comes to OP characters and me, I usually don't enjoy playing those. But there are exceptions. Notably, there are three - two of which were made powerful and one who became powerful. First one (a shaman) was not really made to be strong, he was made to be a teacher and guide, a wise old man of sorts. However, that meant he had to be also very strong. But because of his age and personality, this never was an issue since he rarely gets into confrontations. Second one was made to be powerful. He was made just because I wanted to try actively powerful character and how it would feel. It quite frankly sucked at first and didn't feel good at all. But over time I learned how to handle the power in a way that I was not seen as an asshole and I find out clever ways of using that power, which made it much more interesting for everyone. -- Most basically I found out how much power can I use during given events and people being ok with it. Those special tricks very much depend on the character. Lastly, the one who became powerful. This is a rare case since it is a character that is with me for many years and went through a lot of development, good and bad. His story is too long, but in a nutshel, while studying magical artefacts, performing experiments, researching forbidden teachings and some other wackdoodleshlus, he slowly became a real powerhouse. At this point in time (Legion) he is just ridiculously powerful. Curiously enough he was never interested in gathering power, and more into knowledge, it just sort of happened. He is unfortunately quite a passive one so he doesn't go on offence too often. With this character, I limit myself a lot and I am using most of his power only with people, which I know can handle that. TLDR from what I've learned, when playing a powerful character, one needs to find the correct limit for certain situations.A.k.a Going full power against invading demonlord is OK, while burning a random petty thief in a fairy hell is not. One should also think about some clever and unique way to use their wast power. To that, I will add an example which is not of my design, but I had the pleasure to recently encounter. --A mage using his arcane powers to create manastones and use them as his main weapon, throwing them, making sword out of them, everything- This character in raw power was quite a bit more powerful than the others in the group, but because it was really well made concept, everyone was ok with that. Also, that guy was limiting his strength by the fact that his fighting style was more costly than that of a usual mage. Eventually, just use op characters with friends who are ok with that.
  5. OK. Firstly let's establish the difference between characters one should RP and player characters in Legion. One should not RP these powerful characters for quite obvious reasons I hope I don't need to state. But still briefly about them. These heroes are all on basically the same power level, regardless of class, thanks to many different powerups they have (Odyn's blessings and powerful enchanted armour for warriors, demon stat boosts for DHs, etc.). Now to the point of somewhat averages (a.k.a. the characters we RP). This is a much more complex issue because every class is presented somewhat differently and therefore the perceived average varies a lot. When it comes to the real average, some classes still have higher 'naked' (or base) power level, but it is not by much. Fortunately, the classes on the lower side of this spectrum have many ways how to make up for the difference - they have a lot of ways to boost their stats so to say. Another important factor to talk about is scaling of base power with experience, which is (unsurprisingly) different for every class (f.e. warrior has quite straight curve almost linear, while mage has slow climb from the start, with steep spike towards the end) -> novice warrior will beat novice mage, while a master mage will beat master warrior (talking just base power). Of course, heroic classes are much stronger and it doesn't make sense to really scale them too much with other classes (f.e. to be a noob DK, you already have to be a very skilled warrior). If you want to I can make an in-depth analysis of every class, and talk about how they would fair in combat against each other. And even add some ideas how a class could overcome its disadvantages against other class. Final words: RPing a powerful character in the right way - to make it enjoyable for you and others - is hard, much harder than many people think. You don't need to make yourself extremely powerful to compete with others and by no means think that warrior can't take on mage. He can, you just have to be smart about it. And in the end, allow me to quote a good friend of mine, hopefully, you will understand what it means: "In a world filled with powerful demon lords, the strongest character is a peasant with a good banish spell."
  6. Once more, Be welcomed on our lil server. I hope you will like it here more than on the other unnamed server.
  7. Orbeck used to be a proud soldier of the military. It used to be a great honour to call himself "defender of people". With pride, he wore the grey and red coat of Gilneas. But that all changed when the king commanded to build a wall, secluding the capital and its surroundings from the rest of the kingdom. Orbeck could not understand what madness could drove the king to such decision, but what he could see was the effect this decision had on common folk tasked with building the wall and those, who were soon to live behind it. And somewhere in the north, a lady was born. He tore his tabard and threw away any insignia of 'king' Graymane he had. He left to the hills of Silverpine, vowing to help any and all people in need and swore vengeance against those proud lords who care not for the people they should protect. To his surprise and content, he was not alone and soon a large group of former soldiers, smiths, farmers and many others who didn't want to leave their friends and families behind the wall, gathered. They did all they could to help in whatever way they could. And with a whisper and flash of strange light, many people died. The Bannerless Brotherhood, as they now called themselves, flourished and was very popular among local villagers. Just a little glimmer of hope, knowing that there is someone who cares for them. However, Orbeck was not done just yet. He was indeed happy that the people are safe and don't live in fear and poverty, but those lords still needed to be taught a lesson. A plan was soon devised. Although Gilneas was closed off, from time to time a supply of mostly luxurious goods was let in. That would be where they stuck, at the lavish lives of the nobles. And in a castle, a little girl was put into chains. Few successful raids later Orbeck was pleased. Now even the poor folk of noone's land could share a bit of luxury in their lives - good warm clothing, delicious food, even a bit of jewellery. The lords surely were displeased, but they could not afford to send any guards after them, at least that is what Orbeck's friends, who stayed in Gilneas said in their messages. But the cloud grew darker, the shipments became less frequent and irregular. Orbeck had this strange feeling in his stomach like something was coming. Maybe just one or two more raids, and then prepare for the worst, he told to himself. And a cart began its journey to the wall, seeking shelter from coming storm. They spotted the convoy, yes an armed convoy baring banners Orbeck could not remember, or perhaps didn't want to. Regardless, if they send actual soldiers, there must be something really valuable inside this cart, a tough ran through his mind, he gave his men a signal, they were ready to strike. It was a short skirmish. The guards, although well trained and equipped, did not anticipate an ambush. Most of them died before the fight even started. Orbeck managed to defeat two of them, but just barely. He earned few new scratches this day. After a brief break for catching a breath, full of anticipation he opened the doors of the cart. What he saw inside, shocked him. It was not what he has expected, not in the slightest. The cart was empty, only a little child was sitting on the cushioned seat. It was a young girl with long raven black hair, flowing down her back, and deep violet eyes. She was dressed in an expensive looking dress, but her hand were chained together with a strange chain. It was looking just like a normal chain, but just looking at is made Orbeck feel weird. "Are you my friend?" The girl suddenly asked, her eyes set on Orbeck. He just realized she was staring at him. He was covered in blood, sword still in his hand, but the girl was not frightened at all. "Are you my friend?" The girl asked again, "captain has the key," she added, shaking the chain. Orbeck quickly found the key, unlocking the strange chain, "Where are your parents, little girl? Where is your mom?" he asked while doing so. "Mommy is dead..." the girl answered rather casually. "Oh... I am sor-" Orbeck started, but the girl jumped in "Are you my friend?" She asked again. "Yes, yes of course, we can be friends." Orbeck answered with a smile, finally managing to unchain the girl, someone made sure the chain held very tightly. "Does friend have any food?" "No, not here. You have to wait a bit." "Does friend have any water?" Orbeck reached for his flask, but it was empty, there was a huge cut in it, probably from the fight. He looked sadly at the girl, "I am sorry, but no. Just wait a little and-" "Why does nobody like Tessie?" the girl said sobbingly, a tear forming in her eye. "I -" Orbeck wanted to say something, then the girl's face changed, he could swear her eyes were glowing. Then a flash of violet light swallowed a small part of a forest. The Bannerless Orbeck and few of his friends disappeared, never to found by their brothers. But soon, death washed over the land, erasing all the memories of those who lived there. And somewhere in the north, a girl walked on a road. P.S. A very special kind of friend asked me to write a little backstory for her character. She said, "could you talk about her, without really talking about her?" And so I tried. Tell me how I did. P.P.S If you gentleepsolonians like it and if she allows to (mainly if she allows to), I might add a part 2 and maybe more. P.P.P.S Also, if anyone wants to commission an art, we would be happy.
  8. Forum is back and after I am almost ready to celebrate it.

  9. Many people, especially more experienced ones, don't have a problem with "custom" or "expanded" lore. They are by definition the same thing - a creative expansion on the canon lore, which is needed for some rp concepts, if not most. In its most broad way, every player character is essentially part of "custom lore", the problem is that some unspecified people take their concepts too far from the main canon, putting a very bad light upon any custom lore. Basically, whatever those peeps above said. Don't take it too far and it will be fine.
  10. BOOP! (because it seems that people don't know how to use the search function)
  11. Yes, you will regret it. But welcome back anyway.
  12. Granted, now you owe me a million dollars with a nice term of 120 months and a reasonable 7000% APR. I wish for a dragon ball.
  13. We heard you like RP, so we put RP into your RP.
  14. Whenever someone like Glaeweth is just killed in one sentence ... "Yeah, sure." Good story, poor prince.
  15. Unfortunately, talking about 'elite' dreadlords, there are only the three present in game and in-game files. Unless the others are stored away from the 3 that is (which I doubt). The ones in the picture are most likely custom skins since making a recolour is not that difficult.
  16. Red-ish: 64429 66917 69877 Golden: 71813 Yellow: 69878 As far as I know, the deep red one doesn't exist in vanilla, but if you play with shaders a bit...
  17. Granted, but she will get stuck halfway through the transformation. I wish I didn't feel the void in my heartpit.
  18. Granted, but you can only wish for more wishes. I wish there is a happy little tree in my garden.
  19. Never too late to start again. Welcome.
  20. This looks nice if I do say so myself.
  21. Here is a little shortie I decided to write on a rather peculiar request. Long ago, before the First war, far beyond mountains and rivers, there was a small village and in that village lived a young boy. It was not an ordinary boy, he had a secret known only to few. In an old hut near the forest, where old hermit once lived, he found a treasure – his secret. Scrills in a chest and books on shelves, all about magic, he now wanted to learn. At nights he sneaked out to read the books and practice spells, he didn’t want any eye to see him. But there was one, unknown to him, an eye sharper than any, watching him every night study. One day, at the dawn of spring, someone came to his home to visit. An older man, a colourful robe, he spoke swiftly and sharply about all that he known. He came for a boy with a talent for magic, he came from Dalaran. The boy was surprised that he knew his secret, but he wanted to go. He wanted to see the city, meet the mages and to study for real. He packed up his things and said his goodbye and he left to learn about magic. Time has passed and boy has grown, good man, a skilled mage he became. Respected he was and praised by many, but he wanted to grow more. Good nature he had, even loved by students and friends with many mages. But then, something changed. In old locked scrips he learned to fear, he read about evil greater than any. About a void of hungering darkness, set to consume all. Curious and afraid he broke the rules and studied in secret, studied what he should not. In the search for strength, he found a teacher, one who served the good king of snow. The king knew the truth, or that’s what he thought, so he trained and learned with others who joined. He gave up his life and cursed his souls for hideous creatures he saw, he became monster himself to fight them all. I hope you like it, buddy.
