  1. The Gilnean clergy would most likely be built off the same tenants and ideals as Lordaeron's priesthood, perhaps more subdued but their faith would be relatively the same. A pre-Third War clergy of Lordaeron would be ideal for those who're practicing a faith not as zealous or accepting as the Scarlets and Argents respectively, but still considered much older in faith. (Though, the Brotherhood of Northshire achieves this, almost.)

  8. The Weimar Republic was a democratic federation created by the League of Nations post the Treaty of Versailles in order to re-balance the economic and martial situation in central Europe, creating a nation built off the ideals of democracy and open neutrality. It served as a platform to allow for both Communist and Fascist ideals to go on the rise and is generally viewed as one of the darkest periods in German history.

  12. A nation-less Syndicate? Interesting choice. I always imagined Syndicate to be the patriots of Alterac, being almost exclusively made up of people from Alterac and Hillsbrad but oh well, curious to see this.

  17. Silverpine Forest - Forsaken Forward Outpost, days before the Shattering. 'Gather around me, soldiers of the Queen' a hollow voice spoke, standing tall atop one of the lined up plague wagons, the might of the Forsaken ready to unleash itself upon the unsuspecting Gilneans. 'Gilneas has stood the test of time, proud as always as it's great wall protected it from the foes outside, it resisted the deathly grip of the Scourge for many years, but now... now it must stand it's most ultimate trial, for the blades of the Forsaken call for blood - and we must sate them, the turncoats and traitors who hide behind their wall will die, for She commands it.' _ Event 2 - Shattering _ Silverpine Forest - Forsaken Rear Guard, three days after the Shattering. It was with knives in the dark that Deathwatch discovered an intricate plot beneath their very noses; close by the Rear Guard was in fact a Bloodfang outpost, occupying the old Ivar Patch, and supposedly - Darius Crowley himself was there... with due haste the unit advanced on the farmstead, aiming to capture or kill Crowley and remove the head of the beast. The mission turned sour as explosives tore Ivar Patch to pieces, and a cousin of Bloodfang, the aforementioned Ivar 'the Foul' was killed by the Forsaken forces, the poor farmer given his peace. Once this part of the meeting was accomplished, the unit advanced onto Fenris Isle, commandeering boats and subtly crossing the foggy Lordamere. However, they realized they were being expected as Magistrate Henry Maleb - now a Worgen - ordered his forces to fire upon the unsuspecting Deathwatch, volleys of gunfire tore through many, leaving several members unfit for combat, while an orc by the name of Garkhon stormed the front with the aid of Barahir, who perished on the ramp towards Fenris Keep after being incinerated in the Light by a Paladin. May his soul rest in Shadow. However, they were not done, as Maleb's head must be taken, and the advance continued. After cornering the worgen magister in the cellar of the keep, he unleashed his most secret weapon; Berard the Moon-Crazed, a Worgen psychopath and user of the shadows, he proved to be a slippery eel as even with Maleb's death, he cost the leg of Liandra, and injured other members of Deathwatch before being put down in a storm of fire. Now, Fenris Isle has been granted to Executor Zanaris Ravenfall as his charge, to extend the Banshee Queen's reach wherever she wills. _ Event 3 - Out of Time _ Fenris Isle - Deathwatch Headquarters Word reached the Executor of Ambermill's situation, and almost immediately the scribes recieved a request that Deathwatch take the mission; with utter surety they landed on the shores of Silverpine, using the dense fog and poor weather to enter the town's flank in secret; dispatching two minor sentries - as they did they felt at an unease, a touch of a being they hadn't felt in many years, as the entire town seemed displaced, lost in it's own pocket dimension, a cold unfulfilling void surrounding it. The Town Hall bells rung midnight as another reminder of their past came to be - time-lost Scourge soldiers entered a fight with the many magi remaining, the clash breaking out as Ateric was seen guarding what appeared to be an anvil, him and four other magi channeling powerful spells to keep the bubble in place. Then, things seemed to only get worse, as a Death Knight of the Scourge appeared, slaughtering the remaining magi rear guard, and giving chase to the survivors, while an undead mage accompanying him lead the battle against Ateric himself the Death Knight rather unceremoniously 'recruited' several members of Deathwatch back under the Lich King's control, the vampiric runeblade in his hand acting as an extension of his dark master's will. Having lost their will, the controlled members charged the forces of the remaining magi mindlessly, tearing them apart and devouring them. It was only with the effort of Romeo, one of the Lightslayers under Zanaris' command did the Death Knight's grip break off them, the reminder of the nightmare in the past finally gone; clashing with the Knight, the Executor's own Ban slew the champion, claiming the fallen Scourge leader's runeblade as his own. A fatigued and wounded Ateric is shot and killed at the end of the battle, and his body is left as it becomes unusable for whatever purpose the Dark Clergy intended. Deathwatch now reports to the Forsaken Front, where the Banshee Queen shall address her forces before the final hour of Gilneas. _ Event 4 - Pyrewood _ Southern Silverpine It was doomed from the start. As the Forsaken army rallied at the Front, Sylvanas commanded the High Executors to their positions, as with Mortuus' council, Wroth and Anselm would accompany her vanguard, while the rest of the council will act in reserves. However, when her forces entered the town, they encountered not just some rugged militia, but the combined might of the Liberation Front, and the 7th Legion - what started out as a confirmed victory turned into an utter defeat as the Forsaken army clashed in Pyrewood, surrounded by both Gilneans and Alliance forces; and things only worsened as Darius Crowley and Halford Wyrmbane entered the fray with their elite. The battle raged on in the town. Meanwhile, Deathwatch, tasked by Mortuus to aid Forteski in taking Shadowfang from Ivar Bloodfang and Horace Ironside, for the most part it was successful, despite the critical casualties taken, and a majority of Forteski's forces lost in the opening hour of the battle. Deathwatch under Zanaris' command stormed the breach created by the Horseman, and swarmed the front of the keep, reaping a toll on the Gilneans, and recovering Baron Ashbury from his cell - they entered the courtyard which soon became a fearsome melee as the rallied soldiers under Sir Vandel of Gilneas - a hardened veteran of the Second and Third Wars - sought to delay the Forsaken advance, and they did, causing critical injury to some members of the band, however eventually Vandel was brought low by Leonard Sindermann, Garkhon Deathhowl, and Makrov - the trio of melee fighters slaying him finally. Lord Walden (who was a prisoner of the knight) informed them of a holy site, one of which was soon confirmed as a dwarf by the name of August Foehammer clashed against them, slaying 'Jet' with a single blow from his hammer, and turning Leonard into little more then a charred skeleton, the latter being barely able to move. The Dwarf clashed with Deathwatch, his fearsome might causing the very keep to shudder before being brought low when his throat was slashed by a Deathstalker by the name of Alfred. After this; Makrov (his face was ruined earlier by a Dwarven autocannon) claimed the Silverlaine Family Sword, the relic answering to him as it proclaimed him Worthy. They continued where they encountered the spirit of Commander Springvale, struck with grief at the state of Shadowfang. Lord Ban offered him a chance at redemption - help them slay Worgen, or wallow in misery - The commander agreed, going into battle once more as he fought against Brenton - the Master of the Wall, while Deathstalker Visceri and his own company joined Deathwatch atop the wall. As Brenton was slain by Leonard, the worgen lieutenant fired a flare. Above them, the Skyfire's massive guns turned on Shadowfang, firing a barrage, tearing the wall they were on to pieces, and critically injuring the remaining few fighters - Visceri was killed in this barrage. After dispatching the last remaining soldiers before the Keep (which was sealed by a powerful ward), a horrible truth was revealed. The Battle of Pyrewood had gone horribly wrong, as the Forsaken vanguard fought in around their queen, they soon found themselves overwhelmed and suppressed, against Mortuus' command, High Executor Mavren charged into the town to support his Queen, only to find the dozen or so remaining Dreadguard standing around the Queen, both Anselm and Wroth were captured, and Halford Wyrmbane gave the signal as the last Dreadguard were massacred. Sylvanas Windrunner was taken captive by the Gilneans. The strangest part is that a majority of the forsaken force was still in reserve, under Mortuus' command, yet he did not deploy them, and allowed the combined might of the 7th Legion and the Gilnean Liberation Front to take back Ambermill AND dismantle the Forsaken Front, instead the Grand Executor withdrew his forces to the Sepulcher, where the Grand Executor ordered High Executor Hadrec to make a stand, as the fort was laid to siege, while the Forsaken Rear Guard under Hickley's command began digging trench lines along their side of Silverpine, preparing for a fully fledged counter-attack from the Alliance. Meanwhile, Overlord Cromush has returned to Orgrimmar after the slaughter at North Tide (where a majority of the Orgrimmar Legion was massacred by the Bloodfang Pack), due to an incident with Chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof taking place back in Durotar. It is said the Tauren Chieftain was killed by Warchief Garrosh Hellscream. Sylvanas is now a prisoner of the Alliance. Ambermill is no longer Forsaken, and the Forsaken Front is destroyed. The interior of Shadowfang Keep is yet to be taken. _ Event V - Blood and Iron _ Shadowfang Keep was a daunting task, as no one quite knew what was inside it's halls. With their spirits braced, and their minds sharp Deathwatch plunged into Shadowfang (without Zanaris Ravenfall per usual), meeting and slaughtering many of the Bloodfang Worgen, until they encountered Archmage Gruth Firetoe - who was in the process of binding a powerful fire elemental. After being stunned, Archmage Firetoe's creation was left free as it destroyed the summoning chamber - but was swiftly put down after critically injuring Garkhon, the undead orc left with a permanent limp. The company travelled up quickly, as they entered the final chamber; the resting place of Arugal. The fight began quickly as worgen wielding dwarven tesla weapons sheared into the walls, injuring and shocking members of Deathwatch while Walden and Ashbury took the shadows, battling Ivar (who was blessed by some secondary power) in the background as the worgen were brought down with swift ranged fire. However, even they must die as Ivar is slain by Leonard Sindermann. Godfrey gives Deathwatch a ghastly warning. Undercity, several hours later. Mortuus gazed into the scrying orb, his cloaked allies seated on large, oak chairs. "Interesting, it seems Godfrey is more aware of us then we expected." Mortuus' voice was cold, icy even. "It seems we better hasten our plans." ______________________________________________
  18. Hillsbrad, two months before the Cataclysm. By the order of the Dark Lady, a new unit has been formed - with a test set out before it; infiltrate Southshore and bring it's leaders to their knees to make way for the arrival of the Apothecary Society's experimental weaponry: the Plague. Unprovoked and unwarranted, the town of Southshore was raided with it's key points being hit by plague grenades, and even with the combined effort of Marshal Redpath, Phin Odelic and Raleigh the Devout it fell, as this new force eliminated the trio facing an extreme resistance, but to the unit's misfortune, Southshore (and apparently Hillsbrad Fields) was already evacuated with only a scant few soldiers left to garner their attention. Lead by Executor Zanaris Ravenfall, this new unit entered the town and made way for Deathstalker Viserci's forces to bomb the town. Raleigh the Devout was the last to stand against the nicknamed Deathwatch; a champion of the Light and a bulwark against the shadow but even he fell eventually. Now, with the death of Southshore and the complete annexation of Hillsbrad Fields the Forsaken begin fortifying their position in Lordaeron, establishing large fortifications in Hillsbrad, Silverpine, and an encampment in Arathi Highlands, rumors have it Galen Trollbane stands with the Banshee Queen, but the report is uncertain. Meanwhile, in Hillsbrad the unit known as Deathwatch sets off towards Silverpine as one more great foe stands to delay the Banshee Queen's complete unification of Lordaeron. Gilneas.
